Influenza is an annual viral disease that is contagious, especially during the winter in Sweden. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with underlying conditions are affected. Influenza can lead to deaths among risk groups.
Pregnant women, the elderly and people with underlying conditions have a higher and more significant risk of becoming seriously ill. Influenza can lead to deaths among the risk groups, but most people who become sick in Sweden recover shortly after they fall ill. Examples of symptoms connected to the flu are cough, fever, joint pain, and headache.
Det tar oftast 1-4 dagar från att man smittats tills att man känner av symptom. Vanliga influensa symptom är: - Feber - Ont i halsen och hosta - Trötthet - Frusen - Led och/eller muskelvärk - Huvudvärk
Risk groups and people who are 65 years or older can get the flu vaccine free of charge from the 9th of November, 2021. This only applies to our clinics in Stockholm. Below is a list of examples of people who are included in the risk group:
- Kronisk hjärt- och/eller lungsjukdom
- Astma (för barn- och ungdom gäller svår astma (grad 4) med funktionsnedsättning)
- Kraftigt nedsatt immunförsvar (av sjukdom eller medicinering)
- Kronisk lever- eller njursvikt
- Instabil Diabetes Mellitus
- Extrem fetma (störst risk vid BMI > 40)
- Neuromuskulära sjukdomar som påverkar andningen
- Flerfunktionshinder hos barn
